Kids art camps ~ all year ‘round
Use their time away from school to fire up your kids’ creative minds! We offer a series of art camps through the year over the holidays: between Christmas & New Years, March Break and in the summer.
All camps (excluding animation camps) draw from our arts classes (visual & performance), and also include yoga, meditation, circle songs and storytime. For some snapshots from previous camps, click here.
Our group sizes are small (capped at 10 little ones) so registering early is suggested. We ask for a $100 deposit when registering for camps to reserve a spot.

Summer ‘Animation Explorers’ Camp
Ages 5-7

Animation camps will be held in Parkdale (St. John’s Parish Hall) and is located at 180 Cowan Ave. Toronto, ON.

Over the week, various types of animation methods will be introduced and explained to the group, discussing the history and the applications of use in film and television – including showing video examples and references. Together, with teachers (Kathy Shultz and Lisa Kelly), children will take part in a variety of animation activities – such as flipbooks and ‘stop motion’. Puppet and set building will be explored and kids will have the opportunity to see professional puppets. Kids will learn techniques, be given tips for ideal animation and shown “tricks” in the shooting stage. Step-by-step instructions will be delivered on how to make their film including creating short scripts, storyboarding, set and puppet design and executing the final build. When the ‘film crews’ are finished pre-production, they will then use stop motion techniques to shoot their films. For children who do not have usb sticks for saving, dvds will be burned at the end of the week so that everyone goes home with their animated short film.
Reminder: Please bring a nutritious nut-free snack and drink daily, along with comfortable clothing. Space is limited to ten children (for each age group) so please register early to confirm your spot. Cost is $250.00 + hst ($235 for those already registered).
Multi-Discipline Late Summer Camp
Ages 4-7
• August 27-31, 2012
9:30am – 12:30pm, Monday to Friday
This particular camp will be held in Parkdale (Creating Together) and is located at 1497 Queen St. West.
Each day will begin with a specific theme at song circle, which will lead into yoga with Lisa, an energizing and grounding part of the morning. Ryan will use that wonderful focused energy in an exciting drama or music and movement class! Both Lisa and Ryan will work together with the children in the visual art component of the camp. We’ll end each day with a story and more singing on the magic mat!
