Saturday Oct. 22nd, Multi-Medium Art Workshop: 10:15 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. Art History. Continuing on with our fall segment on art history, this week’s focus is on cubism and Pablo Picasso. We’ll revisit our discussion on abstract art that we began last week, and make note of how in Picasso’s cubist artworks, objects are broken up, analyzed, and re-assembled in an abstracted form.

And not to be left out — we’ve got a Drama Games/Music Theatre Workshop at 12:30 p.m. immediately following our Halloween Costume Swap at noon! See details for the class by clicking the link below.

*Please note: Weekend Drop-in/Drop-offs now alternate between Saturdays and Sundays.

Dabbling in Cubism

Saturday April 16th Mixed-Media Art Workshop: 10:15 a.m. ‘til 11:45 a.m. – Picasso’s Cubist Period. During Pablo Picasso’s life of art, he transitioned through many different creative styles. At this particular workshop we’ll talk about abstract art and how Picasso was one of the pioneers of ‘Cubism’. In his cubist artworks, objects are broken up, analyzed, and re-assembled in an abstracted form. Often the surfaces intersect at seemingly random angles, removing a coherent sense of depth. Materials we’ll be using: acrylics on illustration board.
