Unique Children = Unique Flowers

Satuday Apr. 28th, Art Explorers! Art Workshop: 10:15 a.m. ‘til 11:45 a.m. – Pastel & Van Gogh’s Flowers. I can’t really call this a ‘Van Gogh’s Sunflowers’ workshop – although that is what we’ll be talking about. Since I don’t have any sunflowers to use as our still life subject, this class will be more of a freestyle flower drawing session — which co-incidentally, I find kids prefer anyway! When given the freedom to create, it is here when their inner unique-ness is truly cultivated. As with the class I taught Wednesday (pictures above), each drawing is as personal and individual as the child is him or/herself!

Starry Night for some little stars

Sunday November 27th, Multi-Medium Art Workshop: 10:15 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. Watercolour with Pastel. Vincent Van Gogh! Starry Night was painted in 1889, and since 1941 it has been in the permanent collection of the MOMA in New York City. Reproduced often, the painting is widely hailed as his magnum opus. In this class, children will explore using pastel in combination with watercolour as well as hear some stories of Vincent Van Gogh’s life.

Saturday Nov. 6th, Multimedia Art For Kids Workshop: 10:30 a.m. ‘til noon – Watercolour with Pastel. This class is by request from a 5 yr old student in my Thursday night Art Studio class. He’s been asking for a Van Gogh workshop since September! So I’ve finally got an opening in my lesson plans, and am able to oblige little Levi’s request. Starry Night was painted in 1889, and since 1941 it has been in the permanent collection of the MOMA in New York City. Reproduced often, the painting is widely hailed as his magnum opus.
